The cake is a Yellow Vanilla Sour Cream Cake with Vanilla Buttercream. Joe was enjoying eating the scraps!
It is not seeming that I am getting better at buttercream cakes. I used the wrong kind of buttercream to get it nice and smooth like how I would like. I did get to pipe stars though and that was my first time. Very easy to do!
We made kiss faces to go on the cake but I think it looked very nice without them so we left them off for now. I am bringing them with the birthday celebration though just in case we feel they are necessary at that point.
Found your blog from another blog and I had a good time clicking around on all of the pictures. Sure, I am really hungry for cake right now, but these all look great!
