Hannah and Isabella's First Birthday

February 5th was  a special day for two little ladies I know. Joe's nieces turned 1! Happy Birthday Hannah and Isabella!! I had the honor of making their cake and both of their smash cakes.
So here are the cakes. I found this design on Flickr and absolutely loved it for these little ladies. I added the butterflies since their theme was butterflies and flowers.

Hannah is on the left and Isabella is on the right, that is their daddy in the middle. We had turned the lights out and were singing them happy birthday and this is the scared/surprised look on their faces.
Their special cakes were healthy blueberry banana with oats and whole wheat. They were pretty tasty.

Hannah ended up with cake all over. She was throwing it in the air and getting it all over her and her hair.
This is Isabella examining her cake before it was destroyed.

Grace's Princess Castle

My little cousin Grace's birthday was this week, she turned 7. We had a big bash for her this past weekend. She LOVES princesses, I think every party she has had has been Princess themed. So she had to have a princess cake!

This is the cake finished at home. The bottom cake is chocolate and top is white. The tower were made out of rice crispy treats. The tower tops were ice cream cones. Everything is covered in Fondant. The flags were a cut up Victoria Secret bag.

The little Princess is 7!

Princess Grace with her now faded cake. It was in direct sunlight in the car for 3 hours so it faded a lot.

It is taken apart and been cut up and enjoyed!

Baby Belly Bump!

I made this beautiful pregnant belly cake for a wonderful couple welcoming a little girl very soon. The cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting ( my favorite!). The colors were different shades of pink with a little pearlized white.
I got to use my new edible marker to write the text at the bottom. My hand writting still leave a lot to be desired but it is improving..... Right

I used 2 different sized bowls from Ikea for the bumps. I also got a new flower cutter for all the daises on the dress.

Congratulations!

Hello Kitty

I made this cake for a young lady turning 6. She is very girly and loves Hello Kitty and pink. This was my first time doing a Buttercream cake without covering it in fondant. It was more time consuming but well worth it! The cake is half chocolate half vanilla. Just baked 2 13x9's and cut them in half and stacked on each other.

Zebra Striped Purse Cake

In preperation for the PS3 cake I knew was coming I wanted to carve a cake. My mom and my aunt's birthdays are on the same day and we were having a little get together. I decided I would make them a purse cake since both of them love purses and shopping. The zebra stripes on the purse are painted on and the ones on the board are fondant. I think I am digging the painted stripes a lot more!
